Song School - a song writing workshop by Upbeat Arts

Do you have a song or two in you?

In Song School we discover the who, what, when, where and why of songs. What makes them great, why do they stick in your head? Learn about how songs are made, explore the history of song, deconstruct a song through listening and understanding the song form, create clever and fun or inspiring lyrics and along the way learn some tips and tricks to improve your vocal skills. You don’t have to be a musician to write your own song or appreciate what songs bring to the world! If you have an instrument you’d like to bring along, please do.

You’ll meet like-minded people in a safe and fun environment and have a chance to be heard and to share your work with the group.

Upbeat Arts provides an environment where members can set and achieve their own personal goals. It provides a new identity, new hope and a sense of achievement and enhanced self-esteem.

The song writing team are professionals and caring people, who offer a wealth of knowledge and support to the members.

Upbeat Arts Mission: To engage, educate and empower marginalised communities via tailored arts and cultural programs, creating pathways to well-being, education and employment.

Applications for this free program are via our online application form at www.upbeatarts.org.au
