Communify are excited to host Listening Differently - Essential Skills in Peer Support a face to face 5 day training (delivered via 3 days + 2 Days). The training offers essential practice skills training for Lived Experience (Peer) Workers.

Essential Skills in Peer Support and purposefully sharing lived experience stories introduce (or refresh) essential micro-communication skills for deep listening within the framework of Intentional Peer Support tasks and principles developed by Shery Mead.

Together these workshops provide essential foundational understanding and skill development for purposefully sharing learning from personal Lived Experiences to benefit others.

Essential Skills In Peer Support (3 Day Block 22/23/24 July, 2024)

- Trauma awareness
- The Power Threat Meaning Framework
- Navigating flexible boundaries
- Self-soothing and self-care
- Deep listening micro-communication skills

Purposefully Sharing Lived Experience Stories (2 Day Block 5/6 August, 2024)

- Power of language and sharing personal stories
- Ensuring emotional safety for you and your audience
- Reflecting on lessons learnt from personal experience
- Sharing personal stories in Peer
- Support conversations
- Sharing personal stories as an advocacy and education tool
- Public speaking tips and skills
- What to do when your story ‘outs’ family or friends
