13 July, 2022
Same Service, different name and number.
From July 2022, Brisbane North PHN’s My Mental Health Service Navigators will be joining the national Head to Health network and will become known as the Head to Health Service Navigation team, same service, different name and number. When you call the national Head to Health network number 1800 595 212 (free call), you will be asked to enter your postcode and you will then be transferred to a Head to Health service navigator based at the Brisbane North PHN.
Just like the current service, the Head to Health phone line can be accessed by consumers, their families, carers, as well as GPs, service providers and other health professionals. The Head to Health team will ask you a range of questions to connect with the most appropriate service to meet your needs or assist the person you’re supporting.
The Head to Health phone line will operate 8:30 pm - 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday. Callers after hours will have the option to leave a message and receive a call back the next business day. Please note that Head to Health is not a crisis service.
Announced as part of the Mental Health and Suicide Prevention package in the 2021-22 Budget, the Australian Government is investing $487.2 million over four years from 2021-22 to improve access to mental health services in the community through the Head to Health network. The Head to Health network includes the establishment of the national Head to Health phone service to promote consistent assessment and service navigation to connect people to the right mental health services for their needs.
