Homelessness can affect anyone at any time.

Experiencing homelessness can significantly impact a person’s emotional and physical health.

For people who are living with a mental health condition, finding and sustaining stable accommodation can be challenging. Support is available across the North Brisbane and Moreton Bay region to help you find and maintain accommodation.

Homeless Hotline
A 24-hour helpline and referral service for people who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness.
Lady Musgrave Trust
The handy guide is a downloadable directory of services for women who are without shelter or at risk of homelessness.
Ask Izzy
A nationwide online service finder.
DV Connect
A state-wide specialist domestic, family and sexual violence service providing crisis counselling, information and support to find safe emergency housing.
Aboriginal Hostels Limited
Operates 47 hostels around Australia for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who need a place to stay. Visit the website for the hostel directory.

Support for people experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness

Communify: HART 4000

Located in Fortitude Valley, HART 4000 works with anyone who may be experiencing or is at risk of homelessness in the PHN region.

MICAH Projects
Provides telephone housing support, assertive outreach to people sleeping rough and support for people to sustain tenancies and avoid homelessness.
Brisbane Youth Service
Helps young people aged 12–25 to find and maintain appropriate housing.
Footprints Inc.
Provides programs and supports people experiencing homelessness or are at risk of losing their tenancy.
Encircle: Homestay

Provides long-term support to people in the PHN region whose current housing is at risk, and brief support for people who are homeless.

Homeless Health Outreach
Provides mental health assessment, treatment and support for people experiencing homelessness and other mental health or alcohol and other drug concerns.
A free, independent advice and referral service for all Queensland renters.

SAPA lists vacancies in Level 3 supported accommodation facilities. These are staffed residential facilities for people with a range of support needs that may not suit independent housing. The list is updated regularly.
