You can self-fund your care through private health insurance, the Department of Veterans Affairs or other types of insurance like WorkCover.
To access a private mental health hospital, your GP must refer you to a psychiatrist who has admitting privileges to a private hospital.
Your psychiatrist will assess you and decide whether to make a referral to the hospital.
